Agonist and antagonist switch DNA motifs recognized by human androgen receptor in prostate cancer
Abstract
Synopsis
Introduction
Results
Profiling of agonist‐ and antagonist‐liganded AR‐DNA binding in prostate cancer cells
Precise definition and functional validation of four types of agonist‐liganded ARBEs in prostate cancer cells
Characterization of the epigenetic and genetic features of the four types of agonist‐liganded ARBE locations
Antagonist‐liganded AR does not bind to agonist‐liganded ARBEs
Ligand‐induced AR motif switching is associated with distinct transcriptional outcomes
Agonist‐ and antagonist‐liganded ARBEs regulate genes involved in the onset and progression of prostate cancer
Discussion
Materials and Methods

Cover: Sand Dunes and Clay – The Sossusvlei, Namibia’s famous highlight in the heart of the Namib Desert, is a huge clay pan enclosed by giant sand dunes. Some of the spectacular hills of sand are, at a height of 300 metres, the highest in the world. Only after a heavy rainfall, which is a rare event in this area, does the vlei fill with water. The photograph was taken by Andrew Thompson, a neuroscientist from the Department of Pharmacology of the University of Cambridge, who has travelled throughout South East Asia, Africa, America and Australia.
