Cover: The HIV protease inhibitor Nelfinavir promotes the activation of the kinase eEF2K. This triggers the phosphorylation of the translation factor eEF2 thereby reducing the rates of protein synthesis. In mice, eEF2k contributes to Nelfinavir mediated anti-tumoral activity. This mechanism supports the repositioning of these anti-viral drugs in cancer. From Aude De Gassart, Fabio Martinon and colleagues: Pharmacological eEF2K activation promotes cell death and inhibits cancer progression. For detail, see Article on page 1471. Cover concept and design by Léa Zaffalon, Bojan Bujisic, Aude De Gassart and Fabio Martinon.
